On August 13, we were delighted to host Mike Summerell, CEO of School Sport NZ, the governing body of secondary school sport in the country. Mike presented Mr Grant Jarvis with the Champion of School Sport Award, a prestigious trophy and the highest award given by School Sport NZ.
Mr Jarvis has given his time and expertise to school sport for more than 30 years, during which time he has coached literally thousands of young people, some of who have gone on to play Football internationally.
Mr Jarvis was made a founding member of the NZSS Girls Football Association in 1991 and was awarded a life membership in 2015. He is an exponent of using sport to create good people and the value of sport to our whole education.
